BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech wrestling team will host a tri-meet Friday evening at Cassell Coliseum, welcoming Campbell and Division II heavyweight Newberry to town for a post-Thanksgiving treat. Newberry and Campbell will kick things off at 3 p.m., followed by Tech and Newberry at 5 p.m., with the Hokies and Camels finishing things up at 7 o’clock. Admission is free.

Tech is 4-1 on the young season and ranked 23rd by the NWCA and 24th by InterMat. This will be Newberry’s first dual match while Campbell is 0-2.

Newebrry features several top-notch wrestlers, including the top 197-pounder in Division II in Keeno Griffin and the No. 2 184-pounder in Bryant Blanton. The match will also mark the return of former Hokie Sheridan Moran to Blacksburg. He went 18-33 his first two seasons here before transferring.

After Friday, the starters will head to Nevada for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Open in Primm, Nev.
