Hokies reel in another impressive signing class
Three nationally ranked wrestlers highlight group

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head wrestling coach Kevin Dresser announced Tuesday the signing of six athletes who will enroll at Tech in 2010 and begin competing next season. Three of these wrestlers are among the top 100 nationally and all six will fill needs for the future of the program.

In alphabetical order, the six are: Devin Carter, Tyler Eitel, Harrison Hightower, Sam Law, Angelo Malvestuto and Ty Mitch.

“Ty Mitch and Devin Carter lead what we feel might be our best class ever,” Dresser said. “Hightower, Malvestuto and Eitel provide us with national-caliber guys in the upper weights, which is a concern for us at this point. We also have some other individuals in this class who we think can make an impact on the Division I wrestling in the next five years. All in all, this class could be really special."

Carter is a local product that wrestles at Christiansburg High. He is a two-time Virginia state champion and was the 2009 Timesland Wrestler of the Year by The Roanoke Times.
