Two Hokies advance at NCAA Championships
Garnett, Spellman pick up wins in first session

ST. LOUIS – Two Virginia Tech wrestlers picked up last-second victories in the first round of NCAA Championship action Thursday at the Scottrade Center to advance to Thursday night's second round. Jarrod Garnett picked up a reversal with six seconds left to win his match and Tommy Spellman got a takedown in the sudden victory session to advance to the second round.

The second session will begin at 6:30 p.m., local time as five Hokies will be looking to extend their seasons and two others look to stay in the winner’s bracket.
