Grapplers head to Lone Star Duals
Hokies to wrestle three matches in one day

BLACKSBURG The Virginia Tech wrestling squad will put its 3-0 record on the line Saturday when it participates in the 12th Annual Hilton Arlington-Brute Lone Star Duals. The event will feature 18 men’s college wrestling squads each wrestling predetermined opponents.

Tech will take on Brown, Central Oklahoma and Cal Poly at South Grand High School Coliseum in South Grand Prairie, Texas, which is near Dallas. The Hokies will open with Brown at 11 a.m. Eastern (10 a.m. local) on mat 6 in the main gym, followed by Central Oklahoma at 3 p.m. on mat 4 and Cal Poly at 9 p.m. on mat 4.

Brown enters the event at 0-3 on the year while the Central Oklahoma Bronchos – who are ranked sixth in Division II – are 2-1. Cal Poly is 2-3 in dual action so far, with the three losses coming against No. 5 Missouri, No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 12 Oklahoma State.

UCO features No. 3 Tim Elliott at 133 pounds, No. 3 Colby Robinson at 141 pounds, No. 8 Mikey Morgan at 165 pounds and No. 1 Dustin Finn at heavyweight. Caly Poly has 19th-ranked Filip Novachkov at 141 pounds and No. 12 Chase Pami at 157 pounds.
