GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech sophomore Chris Diaz has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance in last Sunday's road match win over Chattanooga.

The Camden, Del., native used a three-point near-fall to take the lead on the Mocs' Cody Cleveland, the nation’s third-ranked wrestler at 141 pounds and a 2008 All-American, and went on to post an 8-6 victory.

Diaz's showcase win helped propel the Hokies to a 37-0 shutout of a team they had beaten just once in nine previous matches. The victory capped a solid day for Virginia Tech, which also routed Anderson 42-3 to improve 3-0 in dual matches. The Hokies will compete in the Las Vegas Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
