ANNAPOLIS, Md. The Virginia Tech wrestling team took second place with 153.5 points at the Navy Classic Saturday. The host Middies barely won the title, scoring 155.5 points. Tech was led by freshmen Jarrod Garnett and Jesse Dong, who won titles.

Garnett took the title at 125 pounds while Dong won at 157 pounds. Also placing were: Brock LiVorio (third at 125 pounds), Jared Jones (sixth at 133 pounds), Chris Diaz (second at 141 pounds), Pete Yates (third at 149 pounds), Matt Rosen (fifth at 149 pounds), Matt Epperly (second at 165 pounds), Anthony Trongone (fourth at 174 pounds), Kevin O'Connor (fifth at 184 pounds), D.J. Bruce (second at 197 pounds) and David Marone (fourth at heavyweight).

The Hokies (1-0) will take on Chattanooga and Anderson next Sunday, Nov. 30 at Chattanooga.
