2017-18: Redshirted … Went 28-2 overall with 19 bonus points victories wrestling unattached at 165 pounds … Ranked second on The Open Mat’s list of top redshirting freshmen in the nation … Only two losses of the season came at the Southern Scuffle against Lock Haven’s Chance Marsteller, who finished fourth at the 2018 NCAA Championships … Went 6-2 against wrestlers that qualified for nationals … Took first in five of the six open tournaments he competed in … Registered two tech falls and two wins by fall as part of a 5-0 showing at the Hokie Open … Pinned Clarion’s Paul Zacherl and defeated Duke’s Zach Finesilver by decision, 8-4, at the Wolfpack Open … Had two pins and a major decision at the Storm Open … Placed fourth at the prestigious Southern Scuffle with wins over Lehigh’s Gordon Wolf, a 10-3 major decision, and Keilan Torres of Northern Colorado, a 3-2 decision … Went 4-0 at the Appalachian State Open … Registered two falls and two major decisions at the Edinboro Open.
