BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech will meet a familiar foe in the WNIT’s semifinal round on Wednesday, March 28 in Morgantown, West Virginia when the Hokies take on the Mountaineers.

Tipoff from WVU Coliseum is set for 7 p.m. with coverage available on Mountaineer TV.

The Hokies reached the semifinals after a 74-67 win over Alabama on Sunday afternoon on Carilion Clinic Court. Tech shot 48 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tide, keying the victory. Rachel Camp was 13 of 14 from the free throw line

Regan Magarity recorded the 15th double-double of the season, tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Taylor Emery scored a game-high 19 points knocking down 7 of 12 field goal attempts, setting another program record in the process. She has holds the single season record for points and field goals in Tech history.

West Virginia (25-11) is led in scoring by forward Teana Muldrow’s 18.9 points

The Series – Tech owns an 11-6 all-time record against the Mountaineers, including winning seven of the last nine meetings.

The teams matched up in Melbourne, Florida in the third game of the Paradise Jam. The Mountaineers got the victory, 79-61 behind Teana Muldrow’s double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. All five starters scored in double figures, and West Virginia had the edge in rebounds.

Tech was forced to play without the services of forward Alexis Jean, who suffered a knee injury and would sit out the next seven games.
