BLACKSBURG – March Madness continues for Kenny Brooks and the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team on Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. when they tipoff against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the WNIT Quarterfinals.

The Hokies got past Fordham 81-50 Thursday night behind a balance attack on the offensive end. Point guard Rachel Camp led all scorers with 20 points in the game including a spectacular running 3-pointer at the end of the second quarter sending Tech into the locker room with a 21-point lead.
All five starters were in double figures on the night, including Regan Magarity who scored 17 and grabbed nine rebounds. She eclipsed her own program record for rebounds in a season, setting the new mark at 828.
Taylor Emery was honored in a pregame ceremony for setting the new program record for points in a season that had stood for 28 seasons.

Alabama has defeated Southern, UCF and Georgia Tech on its path to the Quarterfinals. On the season the Tide are 20-13, going 7-9 in SEC play.
The Tide boast three 1,000-point scorers, including senior Hannah Cook, who leads the team at 11.9 points per game.
Against Georgia Tech on Thursday, Alabama came back in the fourth quarter to knock off the Jackets 61-59. Ashley Williams scored 13 points and grabbed four boards for the Tide.
The Series – Last meeting in 2004, Virginia Tech owns a 2-0 overall record versus the Tide.
