Virginia Tech vs. Pitt tickets

BLACKSBURG – After a 11-point loss to third-ranked Louisville on Sunday, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is back home on Carilion Clinic Court against Pitt on Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Virginia Tech faculty and staff will have the opportunity to pick up two complimentary tickets to the game at the Cassell Coliseum Ticket Window with their faculty and staff ID.

The Panthers: Pitt has dropped its last two contests of the season. They are lead in scoring by two double figures scorers on the seasons; Yacine Diop (14.9) and Kalista Walters (11.3).

In its last outing, the Pitt fell to North Carolina 68-67 in Chapel Hill. Jasmine Whitney scored 21 points and Walters recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

The series: Tech is 7-5 all-time against the panthers. In last season’s meeting in Pittsburgh the Hokies fell to the Panthers 72-64 at the Peterson Events Center.

Regan Magarity led the Hokies with 18 points, knocking down 2 of 4 from beyond the 3-point arc to go along with six rebounds. Chanette Hicks had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. Samantha Hill and Sydney Cook also finished with double figures in the contest.

Up next: The Hokies travel to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the nationally ranked Florida State Seminoles on Sunday, Jan. 14 at Donald L. Tucker Center. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m. and the game can be seen on regional sports networks.

Next time at home: Tech will meet Duke at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
