BLACKSBURG, Va. – Guard Monet Tellier will take her talents overseas as the Charlotte, North Carolina native has signed to play for Artego Bydgoszcz in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

“We are very happy for Monet that she is continuing her career in Poland,” said Head Coach Dennis Wolff. “Monet had a terrific career at VT and has always played very hard.”

Tellier wrapped up her career at Tech this season after leaving a lasting mark on the program. She ended a four-year career ranked in the top-10 in the Tech record books in points, scoring average, field goals made, three-pointers made, free throws made, assists and minutes played. Tellier tops the career-record lists against ACC opponents in points, field goals made, free throws made, rebounds, steals, games played and minutes.

In 2013, Tellier became just the 23rd player in Tech history to top the 1,000-point mark and just the eighth to accomplish the feat as a junior. Tellier impacted the women’s basketball program at Virginia Tech from her freshman season in 2010 through her final game in 2014.

“It feels like a dream come true,” said Tellier. “When I first started playing basketball I always said that I want to play professionally. I’ve been blessed to have the opportunities that I’ve had and the support that continues to come in my life is incredibly humbling. I can’t wait to get over there and try to make a difference. I am looking forward to my new journey and the challenges it may bring.”

Artego Bydogoszcz finished third last season in the standings in Poland. The team posted a 16-12 record. Tellier will report to the team in August.
