The Fighting Irish
No. 2/2 Notre Dame outlasted No. 8/6 Maryland, 87-83 the last time out on Jan. 27 in College Park, Md. The Irish led by as many as 22 in the opening half, but the Terrapins were able to cut it to 12 going in to the break. Notre Dame answered and reclaimed the lead, going up by eight in the final seven minutes, but the Terrapins again responded to cut it to one with 3:30 to go. That was as close as Maryland would get as ND held off the late charge for the win.
