The last time out, Virginia Tech downed Bucknell, 87-49. Tech connected on a program record setting 13 three pointers as a team. Six players hit from outside the arc and were led by freshman Serafina Maulupe’s four. Maulupe finished the game with 14 points, but the Hokies were led by senior Uju Ugoka’s seventh double-double of her career, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds. It marked the first time since 2008 that a Tech player topped the 20/10 mark.

As a team, the Hokies shot over 40 percent from the field for the fourth consecutive game. Tech connected on 48 percent, shooting 36-of-75 from the field including 13-of-27 (48.1 percent) from outside the arc.

The 87 points against Bucknell marked the fourth straight game in which the Hokies have scored 70 or more. Tech last had such a streak in December of 2007. The Hokies last opened the season in this manner when they kicked off the 1985-86 campaign.

Hofstra’s most recently fell to Northwestern, 74-57 in a midweek game on the road. Anma Onyeuku led the team with 14 points and nine rebounds. Annie Payton added 10 points while Andreana Thomas handed out six assists in the game.

Virginia Tech marks the second ACC opponent the Pride has faced this season. Hofstra fell to Boston College 80-63 last week.

Up Next: The Hokies return to Cassell Coliseum for a pre-Thanksgiving match-up, hosting in-state foe Richmond on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. in Blacksburg.
