The 72 points against Florida marked the third consecutive game in which the Hokies have scored 70 or more. Tech last had such a streak in December of 2007 when the Hokies scored 70+ points in four straight games. The Hokies last opened the season in this manner when they kicked off the 1988-89 campaign.

Bucknell opened the season with a 66-51 loss at Pittsburgh, but returned home to secure an 89-48 win over Binghamton in the team’s last outing. Shelby Romine led the charge with 25 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and four steals. Audrey Dotson tallied 22 points while Claire O’Bryan and Sheaira Jones added 12 and 10, respectively.

Dotson is averaging 22.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game over the two game span. Romine is adding 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists for the Bison early in the season.

The Series
This is the first time that the two teams have met. The Hokies hold a 5-1 lead all-time against teams from the Patriot League. Tech last met a Patriot League team on Dec. 29, 2008 when the Hokies defeated Lafayette, 66-44.
