Women's Basketball 2013-14 Schedule

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech announces its 2013-14 ACC women’s basketball schedule. This season, the women will play a 16-game regular-season conference schedule with the Hokies facing each league team at least once, while playing both Boston College and Virginia twice.

The ACC schedule includes seven teams that made it to the 2013 NCAA Tournament, including Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Final Four participant Notre Dame and Syracuse. The Hokies will also face NC State who appeared in the WNIT.

“Our team looks forward to the challenge this schedule represents,” said Head Coach Dennis Wolff.

The Hokies will have four regular-season games broadcast this season with the first taking place on Jan. 5 in the ACC opener at Boston College. The second is slated for Jan. 9 when the Hokies host Duke at Cassell Coliseum. Virginia Tech will play at Wake Forest on Feb. 13 in a televised contest. All three matches are part of the ACC television package on Regional Sports Network (RSN). The final broadcast will be an ESPN3 game on Feb. 20 as Tech hosts ACC newcomer Pittsburgh.

Virginia Tech will open ACC play following a 13 game non-conference slate. After the opener at Boston College, the Hokies will return to Cassell Coliseum to host in-state rival Virginia on Jan. 9 in the ACC home opener. That game marks the first of four consecutive home games, a stretch that also includes Miami (Jan. 12), Duke (Jan. 19) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 23).

The Hokies will wrap up the month of January on the road with trips to Florida State (Jan. 26) and South Bend, Ind. to face ACC newcomer Notre Dame (Jan. 30).

Boston College will make the return trip to Blacksburg on Feb. 2. Virginia Tech will face another ACC newcomer on the road on Feb. 6, traveling to Syracuse before returning home to host NC State on Feb. 9. Tech will take to the road for a pair of games, facing Wake Forest on Feb. 13 and UVa on the 16th.

The Hokies are set to host Pittsburgh (Feb. 20) and Clemson (Feb. 27) with a trip to North Carolina (Feb. 23) in between. Tech will finish up the 2013-14 regular-season traveling to Maryland on March 2.

The ACC Tournament is slated for March 5-9 in Greensboro, N.C. at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Virginia Tech announced its non-conference schedule last week and the release can be found here.
