As the final seconds ticked off the clock Sunday afternoon, I could feel that the Hokies are back. We are back mentally, physically, and (even more so) emotionally. We were so invested into the game because we were in our zone. We showed up to an ACC game with more fight than ever before, and by proving so with the biggest upset for the Hokies all season. We defeated nationally ranked Florida State University by double digits. Now let me repeat myself in case you missed that…we defeated nationally ranked Florida State University by double digits!

I honestly don’t know what I loved more about that win over FSU. There were just too many amazing things I witnessed to pick just one. Watching Monet Tellier score her 1000th career point was a marvelous moment for her. Anyone who has seen her play knows she is a gifted player and athlete. She truly deserves all the credit for her success in her collegiate career thus far. I too have dreams of receiving that triumph (only 998 more points to go for me). Look out Hokie Nation!

Coach Wolff even cleared the bench at the end of the game at the final minute. I could hear the Cassell Guard chanting my name as I was checking-in at the scorer’s table. I remember thinking to myself, “Is this really happening right now?!” Seriously, how lucky can I get? It was so special because both my Mom and Dad were able to see me play on the Cassell floor.

And after the final buzzer, the feeling of the Cassell Guard crashing the court to celebrate with our team's biggest win all season still gives me goose bumps. I have never been a part of such a success! Even in the locker room after the game, we danced and jammed to the sound of sweet victory. Each girl broke it down to the beat and soaked up the feeling of triumph.

We have finally proven to the ACC that we are a team that has talent. All season we have faced single digit losses in games that were right in our hands, but Sunday was a different story. The pieces all came together for us and we showed the conference our true ability. We are a force to be reckoned with once we carry over this energy, talent and focus. The ACC Tournament is only a few weeks away, and we are ready for it. Bring it on.
