Hokie volleyball kicks off spring slate this weekend
Tech will play its first matches under first-year head coach Jill Lytle Wilson this weekend

BLACKSBURG - The spring schedule is set for the Virginia Tech volleyball team and first-year head coach Jill Lytle Wilson as the Hokies hit the road this weekend to face East Tennessee State, South Carolina and Appalachian State on Saturday.
The Hokies will compete in tournaments in Chapel Hill and Richmond before returning home to Cassell Coliseum on Saturday, April 15, to face Radford and Liberty.
Wilson was officially announced as the new head coach of the Virginia Tech volleyball program on January 12 after spending the last 10 years as an assistant coach, including four as associate head coach, at LSU. She helped lead the Tigers to six NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2009 SEC Championship, as well as 25-win seasons in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Tech returns four starters from last year’s squad, including rising junior Jaila Tolbert, an ACC All-Freshman pick, and rising senior Cara Cunningham, who led the team with 1.04 blocks per set and 24 service aces last season. Rising sophomore libero Carol Raffety is back to lead the back row after breaking the freshman digs record last season with 481.
