The Bulldogs came back to tie it up at 22-all late in the frame but kills by Owens and McKinzie secured the set point and win in the second stanza, 26-24.

With Owens’ five kills, the Hokies’ momentum continued into the third set, taking their largest lead of the frame, 20-9. Tech held Butler to a mere -.077 attacking percentage, in the Hokies’ 25-17 win to reclaim the overall lead, 2-1.
