LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior right side Kathryn Caine has earned 2014 AVCA All-East Coast Region Honorable Mention honors as announced on Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association.
Caine picks up her third AVCA honor after having earned All-Region and All-America Honorable Mention recognition last season. The McLean, Va. native averaged 2.31 kills per set this season while hitting .302 on the attack. She finishes her career ranked fifth in the Tech record book in hitting percentage with .318. The senior right side/middle blocker hit double-digit kills in 15 matches this season, including a career-high 18 at Clemson. In addition to her offensive efforts, Caine tallied 66 blocks.
North Carolina and Duke led the 20 person team with four honorees each while Seton Hall had three.
