BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech volleyball team returns to the road for a pair of weekend ACC matches beginning with Clemson on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in Jervey Gym. The Hokies will remain on the road, traveling to Georgia Tech to face the Yellow Jackets on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. in O'Keefe Gymnasium.

The Hokies
- Virginia Tech split results last week at home, falling to Virginia, 3-1 before defeating Notre Dame, 3-1.
- Kennedy Bryan recorded 11 kills against the Cavaliers while Victoria Hamsher added 10 kills, hitting .692 on the attack. Lindsey Owens led all attackers against the Irish with 17 kills and Kathryn Caine added 16.
- Owens is averaging 3.03 kps while Samantha Gostling is posting 2.76 kps to lead Virginia Tech on the season. Hamsher ranks first in the ACC and 29th in the NCAA in attack percentage at .402 and Caine clocks in at second in the ACC at .376. Jordan Fish is notching 11.12 assists per set to rank third in the league.
- Owens has also been strong for the Hokies on the serve, averaging 0.46 aces per set to top the ACC and rank 16th in the nation.
- On the defensive side, LaTasha Samson-Akpan is tallying 1.22 blocks per set, ranking sixth in the ACC. Megan Beckwith is averaging 4.08 digs per set, good for eighth in the league.
- The Hokies sit atop the ACC and are 21st in the NCAA in team attack percentage at .267.

Scouting the Tigers
- Clemson was on the road last weekend, falling to Syracuse, 3-1 after defeating Boston College, 3-0.
- Moneisha Simmons had 28 kills against the Orange and tallied 11 versus the Eagles. Leah Perri led the Tigers against BC with 11 kills.
- Simmons leads the Tigers and the ACC on the season, averaging 4.72 kills per set, ranking fifth in the ACC and ninth in the NCAA. Perri is adding 2.30 kps. Hannah Brenner is putting up 9.47 assists per set.
- On the defensive side, Beta Dumancic is averaging 1.33 blocks per set and Karis Watson is adding 0.94 bps. Kristin Faust is posting 3.35 digs per set.

The Series
- Clemson holds the lead in the all-time series at 14-8 and won the last meeting between the two teams 3-2 last season in Blacksburg.
- Gostling tallied 18 kills for the Hokies in that match while Simmons posted 25 for the Tigers.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
- Georgia Tech also split decisions last weekend, defeating Boston College 3-2 after falling to Syracuse, 3-0.
- Jennifer Percy led the Yellow Jackets against the Orange with 13 kills and Courtney Felinski added 12 kills. Percy was also strong against the Eagles, tallying a team-best 15 kills with Quinn Evans adding 13.
- Percy leads the Ramblin Wreck with 3.23 kills per set while Felinski is adding 2.21 kps. Callie Bivings and Rebecca Martin are recording 7.59 and 6.48 assists per set, respectively.
- Defensively, Evans is tallying 1.09 blocks per set and London Ackermann is notching 3.21 digs per set.

The Series
- Georgia Tech leads the all-time series at 11-8, but the Hokies won the last time the two teams met on Nov. 3, 2012 in Blacksburg, defeating the Yellow Jackets 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 27-25).
- Former Hokie Cara Baarendse posted 14 kills in the match and Gostling had 10. Top returner from the match for Georgia Tech is Evans who had seven kills.

Up Next: The Hokies are back at home to host Miami on Friday, Nov. 8 before facing No. 20 Florida State on Saturday, Nov. 9. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum.
