Wiker helps team to tournament title at U.S. Women's National A2
USA White Team rallies in playoffs to claim gold medal

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Virginia Tech senior outside hitter Jennifer Wiker helped the USA White team to the gold medal in the playoffs at the 2012 U.S. Women’s National Volleyball A2 Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, defeating USA Gold 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-23).

USA White finished 0-3 in pool play at the tournament, but rallied back in the playoffs semifinal and final rounds to claim the top medal. Wiker added seven points in the gold medal win, including six kills. She tallied 16 kills in five matches.

The National A2 Program features 48 collegiate volleyball players chosen from a field of over 200. There are four separate teams that trained together before squaring off in a round-robin style tournament prior to the semifinal and final rounds.
