BLACKSBURG, Va. – Senior Felicia Willoughby received AVCA All-America honorable mention, making the Pleasanton, Calif., native the first Hokie to garner All-America honors twice in her career.
Willoughby notched AVCA All-East Region accolades earlier in the year after leading the Hokies in blocks and ranking second on the team in kills. She tallied 332 kills and 139 blocks, and hit .296 in 2009. Her 1.17 blocks per set average ranked third in the ACC.
Along with the AVCA honors, Willoughby also achieved All-ACC recognition for the third consecutive season, her second straight year on the first team, and is the only Hokie to earn all-conference honors in three straight seasons. She was also named VaSID first-team all-state by the state’s Sports Information Directors.
