The Notebook

Former Virginia Tech volleyball student-athlete Kristen Cunningham has signed to play volleyball in Straubing, Germany.

Cunningham played two seasons with the Hokies after transferring in for her junior and senior years. She tallied 210 kills and 61 blocks her senior year. In 2007 against Georgia Tech, Cunningham recorded 12 total blocks to place her fifth on Virginia Tech’s individual match record list. She also had 11 block assists against the Yellow Jackets to rank fourth in single match history.

She was a member of the ACC All-Academic team both seasons and was an Academic All-District second team selection her senior year as a communications major.
