Hey VTVB fans!

I hope you all are ready to see some VT volleyball this weekend! Our team has been on the road for the past 3 weekends and is SO glad to be back. We are ready to rock Cassell Coliseum!

As we’ve competed in these preseason tournaments, our team is looking stronger and stronger while getting ready for ACC play to start in two weeks. This past weekend we traveled to the Blue Raider Bash at Middle Tennessee to take on the host team, as well as Belmont, Washington State and No. 12 Illinois.

While finishing off with a record of 2-2, our weekend had its ups and downs yet we ended on an extremely high note while coming back from being down 0-2, to winning the match in 5 sets against 12th ranked Illinois!

The level of competition was at its highest with our team and it showed through our tough mentality and will-to-win throughout the match. Our team was determined to make a statement in the tournament, and to prove to each other and our coaches how competitive a team we are and what we are capable of. This win not only fuels us to be better, but also poses a challenge that we are ready to face in order to continue this level of consistent play throughout the season to bring back wins to Blacksburg!

As mentioned before we are all super pumped to finally be back at home and to compete in front of our Hokie family! We host matches against UNC Wilmington, Radford and Marshall on Friday, September 19th at 7pm, and Saturday, September 20th at 10am and 7pm, respectively.

We want to fill up Cassell for our home opener and show our fans how proud we are to be playing for them. So help out your volleyball team and bring everyone you know to the game and you’ll for sure be entertained throughout this weekend! We’re practicing hard this week and are preparing for a fight to be the better school, so lets show these other teams who really has the best fans! I hope to see you and all of your friends there!
