Day 10: Getting focused
Preseason Camp 2012 Blog

Hey Guys!

After a relaxing day at the pool yesterday, we were back at it at 7 a.m. this morning. We started off with weights, but because we’re usually a little chatty in the morning our warm-up today involved no talking. It was a struggle for some of us, but it ended up getting us focused for our last lift of the week.

We then proceeded into our first session of the day. It felt like it had been a while since our last morning practice. Our first session involved blocking, arm swing work, defense, and serving. We finished at 12, and enjoyed some sandwiches from “Our Daily Bread.” Our break seemed short because most of us were back in the training room around 1 p.m. to get treatments before our next session started.

To keep our spirits up for the afternoon session we found it amusing to talk in a British accent. As for LaTasha…we’re not sure what kind of accent she was trying to impersonate. We worked on game-like defense and blocking for a majority of the session, followed by serve receive and ended with game play. Another fun surprise was meeting our new volunteer assistant, Adam. He will be working with the defenders.

That’s all for today! Exactly one week until our first game :-)

Talk to you tomorrow,

Jen and Cara.
