2017 outdoor: At the USA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, California, Piazza clocked a 1:45.69 in the 800-meter run to place fifth ... Came in sixth in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Championships (1:47.58), earning first-team All-America honors for the first time outdoors ... Placed second in the 800 quarterfinals with a time of 1:47.10 at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds, advancing to the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career ... Earned first-team all-league honors with his gold-medal finish in the 800 at the ACC Championships, finishing in 1 minute, 46.76 seconds ... Also was a member of the school record setting 4x400-meter relay team at the league championship, placing third with a time of 3:06.40 to collect second-team all-conference honors in the event ... Was a member of the winning 4x800-meter relay team in the Championship of America Invitational, earning Tech its first ever Penn Relays Championship with a school-record time of 7:13.75 ... Prior to Tech: Ran three years at the University of New Hampshire before transferring to Virginia Tech … Came in 24th in the 800-meter run at the NCAA East Regional with a time of 1:49.11 … Won the 800 at the America East Conference Championships in a time of 1:50.76 and was a member of the winning 4x800 relay team … Won five conference championships during his career at New Hampshire … Placed ninth in the 800 at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.
