H2Okies re-enter the CSCAA top 25

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech swimming and diving program saw both its men’s and women’s squads return to the CSCAA coaches poll on Wednesday with the men checking in at No. 25 and the women ranked in a tie for 23rd.

The H2Okies are coming off a weekend of strong performances at Virginia despite the final dual score results. This weekend, the men (6-1, 3-1 ACC) and women (4-3, 1-3 ACC) will face Cincinnati with Rutgers at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center from Jan. 20-21.

Sophomore diver Ashlynn Peters was named ACC Women’s Diver of the Week on Tuesday after taking first with a personal best score of 349.27 in the three meter and scoring a season high 311.48 in the one meter. Classmate Ben Schiesl also turned in a couple of stellar performances on the boards. He swept the diving events on the men’s side and set two personal bests with a score of 388.77 in the one meter and a 405.00 in the three meter.
