GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech men's swimming and diving team has picked up two weekly awards from the Atlantic Coast Conference as announced this afternoon.
Senior Logan Stevens was named the ACC’s Male Diver of the Week while junior Brandon Fiala was named the Male Swimmer of the Week. These awards mark the second and third ACC weekly awards Tech has received this season as Ashlynn Peters was named the ACC Female Diver of the Week on Oct. 20.
Stevens, on senior day, scored a 326.40 in the 1-meter and a 353.55 in the 3-meter event over the weekend against No. 21 Virginia and Towson. Stevens won the 1-meter and finished in second in the 3-meter to teammate Mauro Castro-Silva. Stevens has already qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships this season but both scores were qualifying caliber.
Fiala won three individual events and was a member of three winning relays against the No. 21 Cavaliers and Towson. He took first place in the 200 breast, 100 breast, and 200 IM. His relay teams won the 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley relay and placed second in the 400 medley.
The H2Okies return to action on Saturday at Cincinnati as they face the Bearcats with Wright State.
