BLACKSBURG, Va. - After more than a month away from competition, the Virginia Tech swimming and diving teams will return to the pool on Friday afternoon as they face Kentucky with LSU.
The Hokies finished the fall season with the women finished tied for second place at the Tennessee Fall Invitational as the men finished third. Head coach Ned Skinner had the teams start off the season a combined 14-1 on the year with the men holding a perfect 7-0 record while the women were 7-1. Both teams are also undefeated against ACC competition having defeated Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.
During the fall schedule, head diving coach Ron Piemonte had six Tech divers meet their NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. All four male divers hit the mark in both events while two female divers both have qualified for postseason competition.
This will be a two-day meet that will start with diving at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon and will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. before concluding on Saturday evening.
