BLACKSBURG, Va. -- For the second consecutive season, the Virginia Tech women’s swimming and diving team will send a program-record five swimmers and three divers to the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held March 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minn.

The H₂Okies, who took fifth place at the ACC Championships earlier this month, will be represented in diving by juniors Kaylea Arnett and Kelli Stockton and freshman Ashley Buchter. Arnett, who was named an All-American in the platform event as a freshman, and Stockton will both be heading to their third straight NCAA Championships, while Buchter will be making her debut at the event.

The trio will be joined in Minneapolis by sophomore Weronika Paluszek, the H₂Okies only individual competitor this week, as well as the relay team of senior Katrina Filova, sophomore Holly Harper and freshmen Maggie Gruber and Fiona Donnelly.

Paluszek earned her spot in the 100 and 200 breaststroke after taking third in both events at the ACC Championships. The sophomore will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and will be seeded 19th and 10th in the 100 and 200 breast, respectively.

Tech will also compete in the both the 800 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay, both of which qualified with NCAA ‘B’ cut times at the ACC Championships. Filova will be racing at her third NCAA Championships, after competing in a pair of relays last season for the H₂Okies as well, while Harper, Gruber and Donnelly will all be making their first appearance.

Competition will begin on Thursday morning with trials at 11 a.m., starting with the 200 freestyle relay, while finals will start at 7 p.m. Thursday evening. The 1-meter diving event will also be held on Thursday. All times are Central Standard Time (CST).

The 400 medley relay team will be the only H₂Okies on tap for Thursday’s action, as they will be the final swimming event of both the morning and evening session.

Live streaming will be available for much of the event, with both Friday and Saturday’s finals appearing on ESPN3, while live results are available throughout the week. Links to the championship homepage and live results can be found above.
