BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Christiansburg Aquatic Center and the Virginia Tech diving teams will play host to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships this weekend, as more than 90 divers will compete from March 10-12 at the CAC with the hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships.

The H2Okie divers are coming off stellar performances at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in their last outings.

At the women’s championships, junior Kaylea Arnett took home two gold medals and a bronze at the meet en route to being named the ACC Most Valuable Diver for the third consecutive year, while junior Kelli Stockton also qualified for finals in both the 3-meter and platform events.

On the men’s side, the diving events proved crucial to Virginia Tech’s first-ever ACC Championship, as the H2Okies racked up 205 points through the three diving events en route to a 37.5-point victory over NC State. Senior Ryan Hawkins led the way with a pair of bronze medals in his final ACC Championships.

This week, the women’s 1M and men’s 3M events will kick things off on Monday afternoon, while the men’s 1M and women’s 3M will take place on Tuesday. Both the men’s and women’s platform events will be held on Wednesday. Admission is free throughout the competition.

Action will start with prelims at noon each day, with finals starting at roughly 2:30 after a 15-minute break. Links to the complete schedule of events and live results can both be found above.

Zone A, which covers the east coast from Virginia to Maine, has been allocated 11 total spots (6 women, 5 men) for the 2014 NCAA Championships. Competitions in four other zones (Greensboro, N.C., Columbus, Ohio, Minneapolis, Minn. and Colorado Springs, Colo.) will also send qualifiers to the NCAA Championships.
