Switkowski named ACC Swimmer of the Week
Freshman's first weekly conference honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Freshman Jan Switkowski has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Male Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Switkowski, who earned three first-place finishes at this past weekend’s H2Okie Fall Invite, posted NCAA ‘B’ cuts in the 200 IM (1:45.95) and the 200 free (1:35.06) – fast enough for a school record. In the 800 free relay, Switkowski was part of a team that posted a NCAA ‘A’ cut of 6:23.96 and notched another school record.

“We are very proud of Jan on being named ACC Swimmer of the Week,” Head Coach Ned Skinner said. “Knowing how many great swims occurred in our conference this week makes this recognition a real honor. Jan is a fine young man and we are very excited about his future.”

This weekend’s meet wrapped up the H2Okies’ 2013 fall schedule, as Tech will not be back in action until Jan. 4, 2014 when they travel to face Buffalo.
