GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Kaylea Arnett and senior Logan Shinholser of the Virginia Tech swimming and diving program have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female and Male Divers of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Arnett helped the H2Okie women dominate the diving competition at the Georgia Fall Invitational this past weekend, as she won both springboard events and took second on the platform. The sophomore won the 3-meter on the first day of competition to remain undefeated on the season.

The native of Spring, Texas, later took the 1-meter event and placed second on the platform to tally 57 points and lead Tech to a total of 134 points. Arnett has won eight titles in 12 events entered this season.

Shinholser led the Tech men also to a victory at the Georgia Fall Invitational. The native of Burtonsville, Md., swept the men’s events, including a season-best 449.15 points on the platform that set a pool record that had stood for six years.

With Shinholser’s 60 points the H2Okie men tallied 180 points, at least double the amount of points of any other team. Shinholser is on a six-event winning streak and has won nine of his 12 events this season.

North Carolina’s Stephanie Peacock and Florida State’s Paul Murray were named the ACC Female and Male Swimmers of the Week.
