BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech diving program heads to Athens, Ga., to compete in the eight-team Georgia Fall Invitational this weekend. Diving’s start time will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, while finals on Sunday will start at 3 p.m.

The H2Okies are competing against the top programs: California, Auburn, Virginia, Penn State, Harvard, Alabama, UCLA and the host Georgia. Four of the nine teams scored at the 2012 NCAA Championships, including Virginia Tech, Auburn, Virginia and California.

Both men and women are performing strong this season as eight H2Okies have hit NCAA Zone marks. Sophomore Kaylea Arnett leads the women’s team, as she is undefeated in the 3-meter event and has posted six first-place finishes, including setting a CAC record on the 3-meter.

In addition to Arnett, Kelli Stockton set a new school record in the platform event to close the H2Okie Fall Invitational. The sophomore hit a score of 308.48 for her second first-place finish of the season.

Logan Shinholser leads the men with six event titles. The senior is coming off a three-event sweep at the H2Okie Fall Invitational and has hit NCAA Zone marks at every meet this season.

Freshman Logan Stevens will compete this weekend for his second collegiate meet. He is coming off a NCAA Zone score in his first Tech event as he placed fifth in the 1-meter with a score of 302.65.
