GREENSBORO, N.C. – Seniors Logan Shinholser, Heather Savage and Zach McGinnis of the Virginia Tech swimming and diving program collected ACC weekly honors announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. Shinholser was named the Male Diver of the Week, while Savage and McGinnis were recognized as the Co-Female and Male Swimmers of the Week.

Shinholser led the Tech men last weekend at the H2Okie Fall Invitational as he swept all three diving events. The native of Burtonsville, Md., posted NCAA Zone marks in all three events to help the H2Okie Tech men place first overall and defeat No. 21 South Carolina.

Savage won all four individual races this past weekend with NCAA B standard times to lead the Tech women to a first-place finish. The Canandaigua, N.Y., native set a school record in the 200 fly and also swam on five victorious relays. This is the first time since 2010 that an H2Okie female swimmer collected the weekly award.

McGinnis also led the H2Okie men to a first-place finish, as the Raleigh, N.C., native swept the backstroke events with NCAA B standard times and competed on five relay teams that posted first-place finishes with NCAA B marks. This marks the first male Tech swimmer to receive the ACC Swimmer of the Week honor.

Florida State’s Ariel Rittenhouse was named the ACC’s Female Diver of the Week, while Savage shares the Female Swimmer of the Week with Virginia’s Courtney Bartholomew.
