GREENSBORO, N.C. – Logan Shinholser and Kaylea Arnett of the Virginia Tech swimming and diving program have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Male and Female Divers of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Shinholser swept the springboard events to lead the Hokie men to victories over No. 15 Florida State, Duke, and UNC-Wilmington and won the 1-meter against No. 9 North Carolina. The senior from Burtonsville, Md., racked in a total of 30 points and cleared the NCAA qualifying standard in every event he competed in.
Arnett led the Hokie women in dual meets at North Carolina and Duke. The sophomore from Spring, Texas, swept the 3-meter events in the two meets and took third in the 1-meter to help lead Tech past Duke and UNC-Wilmington. Arnett posted NCAA qualifying standards in three of the four events as she earned a total of 23 points to lead all Hokie women divers.
Tech is back in action this weekend when it travels to Georgia Tech for a dual meet against the Yellow Jackets and the Florida Gulf Coast women on Saturday. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
