BLACKSBURG, Va. – Junior Logan Kline of the Virginia Tech swimming and diving program has been selected to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
The Academic All-District teams include student-athlete that are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Kline is one of 11 student-athletes that were selected from District Three which includes the states: North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
This is the second academic honor for Kline this season, as the Mission Hill, Kan., native was selected to the All-ACC Academic Team a week ago. The junior was named an All-American in the 1-meter event at the NCAA Championships, while earning Honorable Mention All-America honors with a 16th-place finish in the 3-meter. She brought in 49 points for the H2Okies at the ACC Championships, with a pair of second-place finishes in the 3-meter and platform event. Kline is the school record holder on the 3-meter and platform and will compete at the 2012 Olympic Trials in June.
Kline is now eligible for Academic All-America honors.
