Tech diving closes USA Diving Winter National Championships fourth in the country
Logan Shinholser finishes fifth in the men's platform

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Virginia Tech diving program closed the USA Diving Winter National Championships with a fourth-place finish overall. The men placed second overall, while the women came in 16th out of 30 teams.

On the final day, Logan Shinholser placed fifth in the country in the men’s platform event with a score of 1,218.55. Shinholser previously placed fourth in the synchronized platform and sixth in the synchronized 3-meter with partner Ryan Hawkins.

For the women, Logan Kline finished the day eighth in the synchronized 3-meter with partner Gabriella Agostino. The duo recorded a score of 496.29, 11 points away from seventh place.

“I couldn’t be happier with the team,” commented head diving coach Ron Piemonte. “We didn’t perform at our best potential, but overall this experience will help us tremendously throughout the rest of the season. All eight divers represented Tech well and I am so proud of each one of them.”
