CINCINNATI, OHIO – After a tough meet last night, the H2Okies rebounded, picking up four victories as the men and women defeated Cincinnati and Kentucky in their final dual meet of the season. The women finish the year 6-3 while the men retire 5-2. Erika Hajnal and Blake Trabuchi-Downey led Tech, taking home three titles apiece and winning every race they entered. Overall, the H2Okies earned 18 titles out of 32 events, nine for each team, and earned four event sweeps. Erika Hajnal had another outstanding performance this afternoon, winning all three races she swam: the 500 free, the 1000 free and the 200 fly, leading H2Okie sweeps of both freestyle events. Katarina Filova and Keri Sink each took home a pair of titles; Filova won the 100 and 200 free while Sink finished first in both breaststroke events. Heather Savage and Addie Carne earned the final two first-place finishes for the Tech women, as Savage won the 100 fly and Carne won the 200 IM. On the men’s side, Blake Trabuchi-Downey led the way, winning the 200 fly and the 500 and 1000 free. Six other Tech men each earned one gold medal on the day. Bryan Uncur started it off with a first-place finish in the 200 free, followed by Zach McGinnis leading a Tech sweep of the 100 back and Michael Hallock winning the 100 free. Tom Sheranek then brought home the gold in the 200 backstroke before Gregory Mahon finished first in the 100 fly. Adam Skipper then picked up the final title for the H2Okie men, winning the 200 IM.
