BLACKSBURG, Va. – Junior Trey Stewart earned second-team CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine All-District honors for the H20kie men’s squad, CoSIDA announced on Tuesday.
Stewart, a biochemistry major, swam season-bests of 51.76 in the 100-meter butterfly, 1:47.77 in the 200-meter butterfly, 1:51.89 in the 200-meter individual medley, a career-best 4:20.03 in the 500-meter freestyle, 50.29 in the 100-meter backstroke and 1:58.95 in the 200-meter backstroke. His marks in the 50-back and the 200-fly ranked third and fourth on the team, respectively.
The academic award is one more achievement for Stewart in the classroom. The Luling, La., native garnered ACC All-Academic honors as a freshman and sophomore, and he will be a senior for the 2011 season.
