GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior diver Sarah Milton was named the ACC’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the second time this season after her school-record performance at West Virginia, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Milton swept both titles in the one- and three-meter events last weekend in helping the 20th-ranked Lady H2Okies to dual meet victories over West Virginia (156-128) and Duquesne (136-125). She recorded a performance of 337.80 in the three-meter event, shattering her former school record of 325.50, which she set two weeks ago against Davidson en route to her first ACC Athlete of the Week honor. Her three-meter mark now stands as the fifth-best in the ACC this season. She also scored a season-best 283.27 points in a first-place performance in the one-meter event.
The Plano, Texas, native also collected the ACC Women’s Performer of the Week honors on January 19. Milton is already an NCAA Zones qualifier in both events, which will take place March 12-14 in New Brunswick, N.J.
The Lady H2Okies will compete in the Women’s ACC Championships on Feb. 17-20, which will take place in Chapel Hill, N.C. Last year, the women placed third in the conference championship meet.
