A Talk With...
What does it mean to you to be a four-year letter winner?
"It's an honor. You always try to score points for the team. It means a lot, I guess." What's the best part about being on the Virginia Tech swimming and diving team?
"I guess just the team atmosphere. I like to be part of a team, and it's been fun. It's been different every year." What's the worst part then?
"Probably how exact the schedule has to be. The early mornings and trying to balance that with classes is kind of tough." What brought you to Virginia Tech?
"My older sister went here and she was of course a good, positive influence on it. And on my recruiting trip, I liked the team. And they had my major here (Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise). What do you want to do with your degree in HNFE?
"I want to go to grad school for physical therapy." So 10 years from now, where are you going to be?
"I'll hopefully be working somewhere as a physical therapist. My plans aren't too specific yet. I just want to get through grad school and then go from there." You do some individual events and some relays, which do you like better?
"I like relays better. I swim faster on relays just because of the whole team thing. It helps me knowing that I'm not just swimming for myself." TV show that you can't miss?
"Right now, Grey's Anatomy." What is your best memory of your four years with the Hokies?
"I guess just my freshman year, because everything was new and we had a big group of upper classmen. It was just a lot of fun, just that whole year in general. You were just so care-free." How old were you when you decided when you wanted to swim in college?
"I was in high school and it was just kind of the next step. I was hoping I would be able to, because I had been swimming basically my whole life." Is it going to be hard in your last meet at War (Memorial Pool)?
"Yes, definitely. It's weird to watch how everyone else has gone through that and now I have to go through it."
