BLACKSBURG – After winning their midweek game against Longwood on Tuesday, the Virginia Tech softball team will host Louisville for a three-game set beginning with a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Friday at Tech Softball Park.

Fans can listen to Friday’s doubleheader live on HokieSports.com as Billy Parvatam will call the action. Saturday’s game with a 12 p.m. first pitch will be streamed on WatchESPN via ACC Network EXTRA. With events going on in Blacksburg all weekend, fans are encouraged to enter campus at the Rt. 460 bypass and Southgate Drive intersection. Poor weather in the forecast on Saturday caused the doubleheader to be switched to Friday at 4 p.m.

The Hokies (16-24, 5-13 ACC) topped the Lancers, 5-2, on Tuesday evening as freshman Carrie Eberle struck out five in a complete game effort. She received a lift early thanks to two two-run home runs in the first inning from sophomore Lauren Duff and junior Aysha Richardson. The win snapped a six-game losing skid.

Louisville (22-13, 6-4 ACC) enters the weekend in fifth in the ACC standings while Tech sits in eighth. The top eight teams in the conference move on the ACC Tournament. The Hokies lead the all-time series, 6-3, and are 3-0 against the Cardinals at Tech Softball Park. Last season, the Cardinals took two out of three from the Hokies in Louisville.
