Tech softball set to take the diamond this fall
Head coach Scot Thomas enters his 22nd season leading the Hokies

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head softball coach Scot Thomas has announced the Hokies’ 2016 fall schedule, which includes nine games at Tech Softball Park.

Tech will face Milligan College at 2:15 p.m. and the University of Charleston at 4:30 p.m. on campus on Sept. 25 before travelling to Botetourt, Virginia for two games against Richard Bland and Liberty on Oct. 2 at the Botetourt Sports Complex. The Hokies’ final four games of the fall will be two doubleheaders at home against Louisburg Junior College on Oct. 8 and West Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 9.

Over the course of the fall, the Hokies will take part in the Maroon and Orange Intersquad Series. The series will consist of three games, with the first meeting between the Maroon and Orange teams coming on Sept. 22 at Tech Softball Park.

All fall home games will be free and are open to the public. The complete 2016 fall schedule can be found below.

The Hokies are coming off a 29-28 campaign where they finished the regular season with the sixth-toughest schedule in the nation and an RPI of 42. Tech returns 16 players from last season and 13 letterwinners including ACC Freshman of the Year Lauren Duff and Breanna Davenport, who hit .299/.520/.382 with six home runs and 20 RBI last season.
