Davenport, Duff and Tyler named ACC All-Academic
Tyler earns her second ACC All-Academic honor to conclude her career at Tech

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After posting successful seasons on the diamond this past year, sophomore Breanna Davenport, freshman Lauren Duff and senior Maggie Tyler are now being honored for their work in the classroom as the Tech trio have been tabbed to the ACC All-Academic softball team, the conference announced on Thursday.

Davenport, a human development major, hit .299 for the Hokies in her sophomore campaign while also racking up 10 doubles, six home runs and 20 runs batted in.

A criminology major and the reigning ACC Freshman of the Year, Duff led Tech in batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage and joined Tyler on the All-ACC First Team. Tyler, a Poquoson native who graduated this past spring with a degree in multimedia journalism, earned three-consecutive ACC Pitcher of the Week honors during her final season in the circle as a Hokie.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
