The Virginia Tech IMG Sports Network is the primary link between the Hokies and Tech's avid legion of fans. Once again this year, more radio and television stations in the Commonwealth will carry Tech Football and Basketball game broadcast than those of any other college or professional team. Tech's radio programs include game broadcasts of Tech football and basketball, talk shows, and daily reports. Television coverage includes Hokie Playback, a delayed telecast of Tech football games and Virginia Tech Sports Today, a weekly television magazine show broadcast on stations throughout the region.

Virginia Tech's radio network dates back to September 18, 1954 when Radford radio station WRAD began broadcasting Tech sports. Joe Knakel and Bob Bradford called the first-ever Tech football radio broadcast, a 30-21 victory over N.C. State.

Today, the Tech radio network is comprised of powerful FM radio stations that blanket the Commonwealth of Virginia, and top-rated television stations which give Tech unprecedented exposure in Washington, DC, Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke, Bristol, and other markets across the mid-Atlantic region. IMG College, one of the fastest growing companies in the intercollegiate marketplace, manages the Tech network and produces Tech radio and television programs.
