The Hokies are coming off a 3-4 spring break road trip through Florida where they continued to see strong outings from their pitching staff. Over seven games, the Tech hurlers compiled a 1.33 ERA, a .168 opponent’s batting average and surrendered only nine earned runs in 47.1 innings pitched. The Hokies’ team ERA of 1.77 ranks third in the ACC. [Full Preview]

After starting the season with three straight weekends on the road, the Hokies are back at home to host Pittsburgh in the ACC opener. The matchup with the Panthers dates back to the old Big East days with the two teams having played a total of 32 times in program history. Pitt holds the slight 18-13-1 edge in the series, but the Hokies swept the series at English Field at Union Park back in 2014. [Full Preview]

LACROSSE

Lacrosse is coming off a big 11-5 road win over No. 16 Denver. This is Tech’s second ACC match of the season, having defeated Duke 17-14 in February. Tristan McGinley leads the Hokies with 18 goals on the season while Paige Petty is adding 14. Meagh Graham has posted 56 saves.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

5 p.m. – NCAA Selection Show Watch Party, presented by Union Bank & Trust

The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team will host an NCAA Selection Show Watch Party presented by Union Bank & Trust on Sunday. Fans are invited to join the team and staff in Cassell to enjoy the experience of the Hokies as Tech looks to be invited to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for a second consecutive season in more than three decades. Admissions is free and the first 1,000 fans can receive a free t-shirt. [Full Preview]

The Hokies take to the road for a pair of non-conference matches over the weekend. Tech is looking to bounce back after falling 5-2 to No. 12 Wake Forest the last time out. Freshmen Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin picked up the wins for the hokies in the match. [Full Preview]

Virginia Tech enters the national meet with both the men’s and women’s programs ranked 12th in the nation. Competing individually for the Hokies are Rachel Pocratsky (800m), Rachel Baxter (pole vault), Lisa Gunnarsson (pole vault) on the women’s side while Neil Gourley (mile), Vincent Ciattei (mile), Patrick Joseph (mile), Torben Laidig (pole vault) and Deakin Volz (pole vault) will compete for the men. Both distance medley relay teams will run Friday evening after both DMR squads claimed gold at the ACC Championships. [Full Preview]

MEN’S GOLF
March 10-11 | Myrtle Beach, S.C. (Dunes Golf & Beach Club)
All Day – General Hackler Championship

The Hokies are coming off a 15th place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic in a field that featured No. 1 Alabama, No. 7 Georgia Tech, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 16 Clemson, No. 20 Kentucky, No. 29 Marquette, No. 35 NC State and No. 50 Purdue. Mark Lawrence, Jr. led the Hokies tying for 26th with a 6-over 219.
