Tech claims three wins on final day of Ivy Plus
Tessaro, Kros and Cartledge finish event with victories

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team wrapped up a solid final day at the Ivy Plus Invitational, claiming three wins in singles at the Lenz Tennis Center in Princeton, New Jersey.

Edoardo Tessaro won the back draw of the Tiger flight, defeating NJIT’s Markus Schultz, 6-2, 7-5. In the Lenz Draw, Jason Kros rolled past the host-team’s Jonathan Carcione with straight set scores of 6-3, 6-4.

George Cartledge picked up a third win for Tech during the final day, taking Bucknell’s Daniel Wright to three-sets. Cartledge took the opening set 6-4, but Wright was able to hold on in the second to win it 7-5. In the tie-break, the Hokies’ player secured the win 10-4.

Virginia Tech will be back on the court Oct. 3-12 at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
