Prior to Tech: Spent a year playing for Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and Generation Saprissa. He started his club campaign with Costa Rica Under 17 team in 2011. During his three years there, Montero helped coach Edson Soto and team make the UNCAF Tournament in 2011 and 2013 and the World Cup Qualifiers in 2013.
High School: At Saint Paul High School, he played under coach Reiner Valverde for three years where he was team captain and lettered all years. Montero graduated high school in 2014.
Personal: Born December 31, 1996 to Humberto and Xinia … Has one brother, Diego ... Majoring in management.
