Gopher Invitational suspended in second round

The second round of the 2017 Gopher Invitational has been suspended due to darkness. The two-day event is being played at the par 71, 7,368-yard Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minnesota.

The Hokies were in 11th place when play was halted. Play will resume at 8:30 a.m. CT. The final round will begin following the completion of the second round, but will utilize a shotgun start with the teams playing in the same groups as the first two rounds.

Mark Lawrence Jr., a junior from Richmond, Virginia, led the Hokies when play was halted. He is currently tied for fifth place, four strokes behind leader Ian Holt of Kent State. Four of the five Hokies had finished their second round before play was suspended. Blake Fiest, a junior from Huntersville, North Carolina, is tied for 26th.
